An excellent letter written by a reader in Northern Ireland to a local newspaper. How many others with courage will do so? The medical advice given in the letter is correct.

Dear Sir,

Last week the ban on "gay" blood donation was lifted in England, Scotland and Wales. The "gay" lobby will continue to agitate, threaten and menace the Blood Transfusion authorities in Northern Ireland until they also capitulate to their insane demand with their cry of "Donation not Discrimination" which is the logo of the homosexual lobby in USA where the ban is still in force. This letter is written to bring certain facts into the public domain and as a warning to those in authority in Norther Ireland who have the power to lift this ban and leave us all (potentially) at the mercy of these aggressive challengers (gays).

The following information was kindly provided by Dr. John Diggs Jr. MD, USA and to him I am greatly indebted.

In 1985, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) instituted a rule that homosexual men may not be blood donors. The FDA had determined this was necessary after a rash of innocent people received HIV infections via blood transfusions. Fast forward to 2011 and the push is on for this ban to be lifted and for the "gay" lobby to jeopardise our (USA) blood supply. The American Red Cross is one organisation that is pushing for the ban to be lifted and it appears that it has become hugely pro-gay in recent years.

A quote from "National Journal", a US news magazine is truly frightening, "Men who have sex with other men, including gay and bisexual men, have an HIV infection rate 60 times higher than that of the general population, FDA says. They have an infection rate 800 times higher than first time blood donors and 8,000 times higher than the rate of repeat blood donors. Tests cannot pick up a new HIV infection in the blood with 100% accuracy, because blood is often pooled, many people may be at risk from a single infected donor."

Here are other quotes, this time from Americans for Truth about Homosexuality, the article entitled, "Keep the gay blood ban", "Men who have sex with men also have an increased risk of having other infections that can be transmitted to others by blood transfusion. For example, infection with the Hepatitis B virus is about 5-6 times more common and Hepatitis C virus infections are about two times more common in men who have sex with men than in the general population".

In light of the above facts, only defiant, liberal, pro-gay, totalitarian, godless individuals would sacrifice public health in their insane drive to normalise that which the Bible calls sin, the delusional thinking of a reprobate mind.
